Over 10 years ago, a program called SALT (Seek, Accept, Love, Transform) was started at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church in Carrollton, TX. Created by an amazing group of people, they saw a need in the community to grow with children and help them.
While many original members have moved on, this small yet powerful avenue has become a vessel for students. As the program continues to grow, so does the number of students lives that are being positively impacted by this small time commitment each week.
Connecting the Community is helping people stay connected to opportunities to help students in local schools. Each school year we support via school supplies, ongoing mentors to read/work with students and a Pen Pal Program that helps stay connected from home. We connect volunteers with ways to serve the community to benefit the local children.
Connecting the Community is a 501c3 I EIN: 85-1889078.
The ability to connect with students and help them through their Elementary school journey. Whether reading with your mentee or eating lunch with them, the quality time is second to none.
Do you know someone who can offer 30 minutes a week to help mentor a child? Please share our information and how we can support the local students to have a consistent relationship.
We understand how hard it is to be all things to all students, parents and staff. We are here to partner with you, support you through volunteers, and grow with you in your endeavors.
