Who is benefiting from the gift cards? 

The children and families of Carrollton-Farmers school district specifically children at Sheffield Elementary and Davis Elementary. 

Who is coordinating the donation? 

Connecting the Community is a vessel to help the schools connect with resources and people in the area to help these children.  We are working in conjunction with Holy Covenant UMC  to get the gift cards collected. Holy Covenant has been running this program (with gifts) for many years but we have decided to open it up to more people.

Who can participate? 

Anyone willing to give their money to help a child/family have a special holiday season. 

What is the timeframe? 

We are starting early to help as many children as possible.  We will be collecting gift cards from November 1-December 13. 

How much should I spend?

On average, people generally spend $200+ on a family and $75+ on a child.  We have seen groups of people band together to support a family or a child.  Since they are gift cards, we can pair your donation with others to support. 

When will the children and families receive the gift cards? 

We are delivering them to the schools the week of December 14th to give families to buy for Christmas Day. 

Is this tax-deductible?

Connecting the Community is a 501C3 - EIN: 85-1889078  - if you donate through us, keep your receipt for tax purposes. We will also send you a letter to thank you for your donation to go along with your tax records.  I
